Sugarloaf Mountain, also known as Stronghold Mountain, is located in Boyd's, Maryland. Just over 1,000 feet high it provides views in all directions and was a strategic viewpoint during the American Civil War. Privately owned but opened to the public throughout the year, Sugarloaf Mountain was once sought after by Teddy Roosevelt as a presidential retreat. Eventually President Roosevelt decided on Camp David instead. Here's a few photos from our recent hike:
